Islamabad (Turkey Khabar) In the border area of Kat Kot in Bajaur, unprovoked shelling by Afghan Taliban on Pakistani civilian population resulted in the death of three individuals, including a woman and two children, while three others were seriously injured. According to security sources, the village of Malik Shaheen was targeted from across the border, affecting members of a single family. The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital.
Sources state that in recent days, attempts were also being made to infiltrate militants into Pakistan; however, the Pakistan Army thwarted this infiltration attempt through timely action. According to security officials, following this failure, civilian population was targeted from across the border, to which the Pakistan Army responded promptly and effectively, destroying the post from where the firing was carried out.
It has further been reported that other hideouts in adjoining areas were also targeted, resulting in casualties among hostile elements. The local population strongly condemned this attack and expressed full solidarity with the security forces. Security sources say that the forces remain alert and determined at all times to protect the lives and property of citizens and to ensure lasting peace in the area, while targeting civilian population reflects the frustration and malicious intent of the attackers.
