Beijing (Monitoring Desk): China has called for the continuation of negotiations between the United States and Iran and demanded the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
According to international media reports, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said in a statement that, in China’s view, a sustainable solution to the Strait of Hormuz issue lies only in a lasting and comprehensive ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
In a statement released by Chinese news agencies, Wang Yi said that Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized in his conversation with US President Donald Trump that the use of force cannot resolve problems and that dialogue remains the only way forward.
He added that negotiation processes do not produce immediate results, but once dialogue begins, it should not be interrupted again.
According to the Chinese Foreign Minister, Beijing is playing an active role in promoting peace talks in the region and will continue its efforts to end conflict and restore peace and stability in the Middle East.
