Islamabad (Turkey News) The federal government has proposed a 10 to 15 percent increase in the salaries of government employees in the upcoming budget for the fiscal year 2026-27.
According to the report, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held consultations regarding the upcoming budget in an informal meeting held yesterday at the Prime Minister House.
The meeting discussed key aspects of the new fiscal budget, particularly matters related to the Public Sector Development Programme, taxes, salaries, and pension increases.
The Federal Finance Minister briefed the Prime Minister on various important points of the budget. According to sources, a 10 to 15 percent increase in government employees’ salaries is under consideration in view of the inflation rate.
However, the Prime Minister directed that it should be determined, keeping in view the available financial resources, how much relief can be provided to employees.
According to sources, the final decision regarding salary increases will be made by the Prime Minister after consultation with coalition parties.
