Baku: Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Anaclaudia Rosbach, Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), who is visiting the country to participate in the Baku Global Forum.
During the meeting, discussions focused on cooperation between Azerbaijan and UN-Habitat, sustainable urban planning, urban governance, and contributions to sustainable urban development. Both sides also exchanged views on preparations for the upcoming World Urban Forum (WUF13) and related initiatives.
The meeting highlighted major examples of Azerbaijan’s work in the urban sector, including reconstruction and rehabilitation projects in liberated areas, restoration of damaged cities and villages, and establishment of new settlements based on modern urban planning principles.
Discussions also addressed the current security situation in the Middle East and rising regional tensions. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov briefed the Executive Director on regional developments, the normalization of relations and peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and Azerbaijan’s efforts to promote sustainable peace and stability in the region.
