Attacks on Lebanon Push Region Back to Brink of War

Lebanon (Monitoring Desk): Just hours after the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, Israel carried out intense missile strikes on Lebanon, resulting in the deaths of at least 204 people and reigniting tensions across the region.

According to sources, in response to the attacks, Iran also launched missile operations and once again closed the Strait of Hormuz, further escalating the situation.

U.S. President Donald Trump is currently faced with three key options: restarting the war, advancing diplomatic efforts, or pressuring Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to step back.

Iran maintains that Lebanon should be included in any agreement, while the United States and Israel disagree. In an interview, Donald Trump described the Beirut attacks as a separate clash, stating that Lebanon was excluded from the ceasefire due to the presence of Hezbollah, though he added that the issue would also be addressed.

Meanwhile, Israel has made it clear that it will continue its operations until Iran’s nuclear and missile programs are dismantled and Hezbollah’s influence in Lebanon is eliminated, raising further concerns of escalation in the region.
