Istanbul (Turkiye Khabar) Activists belonging to the global humanitarian aid convoy “Global Sumud” have arrived in Istanbul after being released from Israeli custody via three separate flights.
The activists were detained when they attempted to break the blockade of Gaza Strip to deliver humanitarian aid, and their vessels were allegedly intercepted in international waters.
Three flights operated by Turkish Airlines carried the released activists to Istanbul Airport, where they were warmly received at the VIP terminal by their families and officials.
The injured activists were immediately transferred by ambulances available at the airport for medical assistance.
It is further expected that all activists will be taken to the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute for additional medical examinations and legal procedures, where investigations by the prosecution are ongoing.
