Washington (Monitoring Desk) US President Donald Trump’s envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have visited the US state of Tennessee to meet nuclear affairs experts.
According to media reports, US officials said that the meeting with nuclear experts in the city of Oak Ridge, Tennessee should not be immediately seen as a sign of any final agreement. However, it does indicate that the negotiations have entered a highly important and sensitive phase, requiring full preparation.
It is worth noting that Oak Ridge is considered an important center of advanced experts involved in uranium production and enrichment technology.
The report further stated that a team of around 100 experts participated in the meeting.
It was also reported that informal talks between US and Iranian officials last week discussed extending a ceasefire, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian oil sales, and limits on enriched uranium stockpiles and future enrichment levels.
A 60-day understanding framework was also agreed for these negotiations.
