Islamabad (Turkiye News) In Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that a peace agreement has been finalized between the United States and Iran, while the formal signing ceremony will take place in Switzerland on June 19.
In a statement issued on a social media platform, the Prime Minister said that following negotiations, an agreement was reached between the two countries and the parties agreed to an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon.
According to the statement, the signing ceremony for the agreement will be held in Switzerland on June 19. The statement also appreciated the efforts of all countries that played a role in achieving a diplomatic resolution to the dispute.
The Prime Minister paid special tribute to Qatar for its leadership and support in the mediation process, while also acknowledging the important role played by the leadership of Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
The statement said that following the agreement, the mediating countries will begin a series of consultative meetings in the coming days to discuss technical matters, implementation mechanisms, and preparations for the signing ceremony.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that continued diplomatic efforts are essential for promoting peace and stability, and that this development could prove to be a positive step toward reducing tensions in the region.
