Peshawar (Turkiye News) In Peshawar, differences between the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and dissident lawmakers over the budget and other important matters continue, resulting in the provincial assembly session being postponed once again.
According to party sources, there are concerns that dissatisfied members may not attend the budget session. On the instructions of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, the assembly session has been rescheduled from June 15 to June 17.
Sources said that the government is continuing consultations with dissident members and senior party leadership on various issues in an effort to build consensus.
Meanwhile, the Finance Department has completed preparations for the full-year budget, but no final decision has yet been made regarding its presentation.
On the other hand, Finance Adviser Muzammil Aslam said that the Chief Minister has not yet issued any final instructions regarding the presentation of the budget.
He further stated that the decision on whether to present a full-year budget or a three-month interim budget will be made by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to government circles, consultations regarding the budget are ongoing, and the situation is expected to become clearer in the coming days.
