Lahore (Turk Khabar): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to formally take up the issue of alleged inappropriate and provocative behavior by Indian players during the Under-19 Asia Cup final with the International Cricket Council (ICC).
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi stated that during the final match, Indian players repeatedly attempted to provoke the Pakistani team, an act he described as contrary to the rules of the game and the spirit of sportsmanship.
Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that the matter is being conveyed to the ICC in writing, stressing that cricket should be played with respect, positive competition, and true sporting spirit, rather than in a manner that creates tension on the field.
He further underlined the importance of keeping sports and politics separate, adding that players’ conduct on the field should serve as a positive example for young people.
It is worth noting that Pakistan Under-19 team mentor Sarfaraz Ahmed also termed the conduct of Indian players as regrettable and unethical following the final. He said that despite winning the match, the Pakistani team displayed patience and dignity.
According to Sarfaraz Ahmed, the behavior of Indian players was their own responsibility, while the Pakistan team set a better example by playing with discipline, sportsmanship, and a positive mindset.
