Istanbul (Turkey News) President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has warned that some European countries should not use the Iran conflict as a pretext to give permanent status to their military presence in Cyprus. According to foreign media reports, President Erdoğan made these remarks during a meeting with Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman, which was also confirmed in an official statement. He clearly stated that Türkiye will take all necessary steps to defend the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and will safeguard the rights and interests of the Turkish Cypriot people at all costs. The statement added that the meeting took place at the Presidential Office in Istanbul, where both leaders held detailed discussions on bilateral relations and regional matters. Senior Turkish officials were also present on the occasion and consulted on the regional situation and security issues.
