Turkey announces increase in daily LNG supply capacity to 200 million cubic meters

Ankara (Turkey Desk) — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said that Turkey has become a reliable partner in regional energy transit and plays an important role in promoting peace.

Addressing the National Resources Summit in Istanbul, he said that Turkey is geographically a central bridge connecting energy-rich regions with energy-dependent countries.

According to President Erdoğan, Turkey’s importance in ensuring secure energy supply has become more evident amid recent regional tensions and supply concerns.

He said that Turkey’s liquefied natural gas terminals, floating storage and regasification units, storage projects, and pipeline network have made the country one of the strongest energy hubs in Europe.

President Erdoğan announced that through new investments, the country’s daily LNG regasification capacity will be increased from the current 161 million cubic meters to 200 million cubic meters.

He added that Turkey’s energy policy is not limited to supply security alone, but is also linked to regional stability and the promotion of peace.

Turkey’s strategic geographical location makes it an important transit route between energy-producing and energy-consuming regions, especially in the context of the ongoing global energy crisis.
