Türkiye Urges Peace, Calls for Maintaining Ceasefire

Istanbul (Turkey Khabar) Türkiye’s Presidential High Advisory Council has emphasized the need to maintain a ceasefire in the region following an alleged attack on Iran, stating that diplomatic engagement with all parties will continue to ensure peace and stability. According to a statement issued by Turkish Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran, the meeting was held at the Presidential Complex in Ankara under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, where regional conflicts, the global situation, and matters related to counterterrorism were discussed in detail.

The meeting also reviewed strategies and measures for development in key sectors including the defense industry, communications, information technology, transportation, energy, urban planning, and tourism, while addressing challenges to national unity was termed essential. Burhanettin Duran stated that strong and decisive measures are necessary to achieve the goal of a terror-free Türkiye, which will further strengthen national unity.

He further said that a comprehensive strategy was discussed to eliminate all forms of violence, including recent incidents in educational institutions, encompassing judicial, administrative, social, and cultural measures.

Meanwhile, in a tragic shooting incident at a middle school in Kahramanmaraş, nine people were killed and 13 injured, six of whom are reported to be in critical condition. The incident has been confirmed by the Turkish Interior Minister.
