Türkiye Fully Prepared on Food Security, Protection from Regional Wars and Crises Possible: Erdoğan

Ankara (Turkey Khabar): Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said that Türkiye has taken comprehensive measures to protect its food security and agricultural production from the effects of regional conflicts, climate-related risks, and global crises.

Addressing a ceremony on World Farmers’ Day in Ankara, he said that through a balanced foreign policy, the government has ensured stability in the country and uninterrupted food supply for a population of 86 million.

He said that since the beginning of ongoing conflicts in Iran and Gulf countries, Türkiye has taken emergency measures to safeguard agricultural production so that these crises do not affect the country’s agriculture sector.

According to President Erdoğan, the supply of fertilizers and raw materials has already been secured, and sufficient fertilizer reserves are available in the country.

He said that water scarcity, climate change, epidemics, and wars are further increasing the importance of food security worldwide, and the concept of “food nationalism” is also becoming prominent at the global level.

He added that Türkiye has carried out advance planning considering all these risks, and currently the country is not facing any food crisis.

He further stated that rainfall conditions have improved in recent months, water reservoirs are increasing, and there are no major irrigation-related issues at present.

At the end of the ceremony, President Erdoğan expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people, particularly those in Gaza and the West Bank, saying their lands have been devastated by destruction and violence, and expressed hope that one day these areas will become green again and prosperity will return.
