Ankara (Monitoring Desk): Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairman of Turkish defense company Baykar, has said that large-scale production of drones can serve as a highly effective defensive barrier for any country, adding that if their numbers are sufficient, no country would dare to launch an attack.
He made these remarks while briefing Queen Mathilde and her delegation during their visit to the Özdemir Bayraktar National Technology Center in Istanbul. On the occasion, he also provided detailed information about the company’s unmanned aerial vehicles and suicide drone systems.
Selçuk Bayraktar stated that it is hoped these weapons will never need to be used, as drones are part of a strong defensive strategy and have the capacity to significantly deter attacks.
Queen Mathilde of Belgium arrived in Türkiye on May 10 for a three-day visit as part of a Belgian economic mission. During the visit, she met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, First Lady Emine Erdoğan, and Trade Minister Ömer Bolat, while discussions were also held on strengthening bilateral cooperation in defense and the economy.
