Turkish President Erdoğan Appeals for Stability and Unity in Syria, Urges Parties to Avoid Past Mistakes

Ankara (Monitoring Desk) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has called on all parties in Syria to prioritize unity and refrain from actions that could jeopardize prospects for long-term stability and reconciliation.

Addressing a parliamentary group meeting of the Justice and Development Party, Erdoğan stated that the nation’s foremost desire is for peace in Syria, with Syrians united in shaping their own future. He emphasized the need for cooperation among the country’s diverse communities after years of conflict and highlighted that a framework for a long-term settlement is gradually taking shape.

The President warned the parties to avoid repeating past mistakes and said that a roadmap for lasting peace in Syria has been established. He also urged caution against extremist demands and misguided approaches.

Reflecting on the human cost of the war, Erdoğan noted that “every drop of spilled blood is heart-wrenching, whether Arab, Turkmen, Kurdish, or Assyrian. Each lost life feels like losing a part of ourselves.”
