Turkish President and U.S. President Hold Phone Call, Express Concern Over White House Incident

Istanbul (Turkey News): Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and U.S. President Donald Trump held a telephone conversation on Sunday, during which various issues were discussed.

According to a statement by the Turkish Presidency’s Directorate of Communications, the contact was announced through a post on the social media platform X.

During the call, President Erdoğan expressed concern over the shooting incident that occurred during a press dinner at the White House in Washington.

He described the incident as a serious attack on democracy and press freedom, and also conveyed his best wishes for the speedy recovery of the injured security personnel.

The Turkish Presidency stated that the two leaders also discussed bilateral relations and regional developments during their conversation.
