Turkish Foreign Minister says US–Iran peace deal important step toward regional stability

Istanbul (Turkiye News) In Istanbul, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has welcomed the peace agreement between the United States and Iran, calling it an important development toward lasting peace and stability in the region.

In a statement on social media, he said that Türkiye views the agreement positively and hopes that upcoming negotiations will continue in a constructive manner.

Hakan Fidan said that the agreement to end the war between the United States and Iran is a major milestone toward establishing long-term peace and stability in the region.

He expressed hope that future “follow-up talks” will proceed in a positive and constructive environment.

The Turkish foreign minister praised the countries involved in facilitating the agreement, stating that Pakistan played an important role in mediation, while Qatar and other countries also provided significant support.

He stressed that efforts by elements seeking to sabotage the agreement should be thwarted, and all parties must act responsibly for the protection of regional peace and security.

According to Hakan Fidan, Türkiye has supported the process from the beginning and will continue its diplomatic efforts to promote peace, stability, and de-escalation in the region.

It is worth noting that the agreement was announced by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday, under which both sides agreed to an immediate and permanent ceasefire on all fronts. The signing ceremony is expected to be held in Switzerland on Friday.
