Ankara (Turkiye News): Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held separate telephone conversations with his counterparts in Iran and Qatar, discussing the two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran and steps toward establishing lasting peace.

According to diplomatic sources from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan expressed satisfaction over the temporary ceasefire during his conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to achieving sustainable peace.

Sources added that Fidan stated Türkiye would continue its efforts to ensure that the ceasefire evolves into a long-term and durable solution.

In a separate call, the Turkish foreign minister also spoke with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, where they discussed measures needed to transform the temporary ceasefire into lasting regional peace.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran on Tuesday, stating that Tehran had presented a workable 10-point proposal for negotiations.

According to Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, the proposal—presented to the United States through Pakistan’s mediation—includes assurances of non-aggression from the U.S., continued Iranian control over the Strait of Hormuz, permission for uranium enrichment, and the removal of all primary and secondary sanctions.

Additionally, the proposal includes compensation for Iran, withdrawal of U.S. military forces from the region, and an end to conflicts on all fronts, including the war against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
