Turkish and Pakistani Foreign Ministers in Contact, Consultations Intensify on US-Iran Talks

Istanbul (Turkey News): Hakan Fidan, Foreign Minister of Türkiye, held a telephone conversation on Tuesday with Ishaq Dar, Foreign Minister of Pakistan, during which detailed discussions were held on the ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran.

According to Turkish diplomatic sources, both leaders also reviewed the evolving regional situation and discussed possible next steps to adopt a joint strategy aimed at reducing tensions.

Iranian officials stated that since February 28, more than 3,300 people have been killed in ongoing air operations. In response, Tehran reportedly carried out missile and drone attacks targeting US military installations in Israel, Iraq, Jordan, and Gulf countries. A two-week ceasefire was later announced last week.

Last week, rare direct talks between the United States and Iran were also held in Islamabad, aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict; however, the discussions concluded without an agreement.

According to official sources, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to visit Saudi Arabia and Türkiye ahead of a possible second round of talks to further strengthen diplomatic efforts.

Informed sources say that the second round of negotiations, hosted by Pakistan, is expected to take place soon in Islamabad, raising new hopes for peace in the region.
