Ankara (Turkiye Khabar): Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has said that Turkey’s close and brotherly relations with Pakistan should not be a cause of concern for any other country.
Speaking at an international institute event in Singapore, he said that no country should view Turkey’s relations with Pakistan as hostility or a negative move directed against it.
He clarified that close relations with Pakistan are not limited to Turkey alone, as many other countries around the world also maintain friendly and strong diplomatic ties with Pakistan.
According to the Turkish foreign minister, if any country expresses displeasure simply because others maintain relations with Pakistan, such an attitude is questionable.
Reports suggest that Turkey and Pakistan have long-standing political, diplomatic, and defense cooperation, while Turkey has also consistently supported Pakistan’s stance on the Kashmir issue.
Experts say the statement indicates that countries pursue independent foreign policies based on their national interests, and bilateral relations should not be viewed through the lens of a third country.
