Ankara (Turkiye News) — Turkey has welcomed the formation of a new government in Iraq, led by Prime Minister Ali al-Zaydi.
Following the Iraqi parliament’s vote of confidence, the new government has officially assumed responsibilities, and Turkey extended its best wishes for its success.
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that it wishes Prime Minister Ali al-Zaydi success in his important responsibilities.
The statement expressed hope that, amid the region’s sensitive situation, the new Iraqi government would take positive and effective steps toward stability, prosperity, and regional integration.
The ministry further stated that Turkey is committed to strengthening cooperation with Iraq across various sectors, noting that the two countries share long-standing and strong relations.
It added that Turkey will continue to play its full role in supporting Iraq’s development and stability efforts.
