Paris / Istanbul (Turkey News) Turkey’s Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Murat Kurum, has said that Turkey aims to further strengthen global cooperation to combat climate change.
According to details, he is also serving as the President of the upcoming United Nations Climate Conference COP31, which is scheduled to be held in Turkey this autumn.
In this regard, he met with OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann in Paris. The meeting discussed Turkey’s vision for COP31, which will take place in the southern Turkish city of Antalya.
During the discussions, topics such as energy efficiency, green transformation, zero waste, and the circular economy were reviewed.
Murat Kurum said that Turkey considers the role of the OECD in multilateral cooperation to be very important and also thanked Mathias Cormann for his hospitality.
On the same occasion, he also met former COP26 President Alok Sharma in the United Kingdom, where climate action and global experiences were discussed.
The event also included a high-level Energy Transition Dialogue organized by the International Energy Agency, attended by representatives from more than 50 countries, where energy transformation and environmental policies were discussed in detail.
