Turkey (Turkey News) – Murat Kurum, Minister of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, announced that a total of 5,242,766 valid applications have been received for the 500,000-unit social housing project. The first lottery will be held on December 29 in Adiman, and the delivery of the first homes will begin in 2026. Additional quotas have also been allocated for earthquake-affected areas.
Murat Kurum stated, “We have constructed 1,750,000 social housing units across all provinces, and citizens living in TOK buildings after the earthquake have suffered no harm. We are proud of TOK.”
In Istanbul, 100,000 social housing units will be built, while 15,000 rental homes will be constructed on the European and Anatolian sides under the rental housing program to reduce rent and housing costs.
This initiative is seen as a significant step toward alleviating the housing crisis in Turkey and providing affordable and reasonable accommodation for citizens.
