Turkey (Turkey News): To further simplify digital transactions, Turkey has increased the contactless payment limit. According to the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK), the limit for password-free credit card transactions has been raised from 1,500 Turkish Lira to 2,500 Turkish Lira.
This change will come into effect on January 15, 2026. Authorities stated that the adjustment, the first in two years, aims to promote faster, safer, and more convenient payments for everyday purchases. BDDK had officially notified all banks of the decision back in April.
