Ankara (Sports Desk) – Turkish football fans’ long wait has finally come to an end as Turkey has qualified for the FIFA World Cup after 24 years.
On Tuesday, Turkey defeated Kosovo 1-0 in the playoff final, securing their place in the world’s biggest football tournament. Turkey last participated in the World Cup in 2002. Fans celebrated this historic achievement and praised the team’s performance, while global football circles hailed Turkey’s return as highly significant.
Meanwhile, Iraq also qualified for the World Cup after 40 years by defeating Bolivia 2-1 in the inter-confederation playoff. Iraq had last participated in the World Cup in 1986 in Mexico.
