Istanbul (Turkey News Desk)STM (Savunma Teknolojileri Mühendislik ve Ticaret A.Ş.) has unveiled a new long-range unmanned aerial system named “Kuzgun,” described as a cruise-type kamikaze drone, for the first time.
According to the company, the advanced UAV system is designed for long-range strike missions and is claimed to have a range of more than 1000 kilometers (621 miles). KUZGUN is equipped with a high-explosive warhead capable of effectively targeting strategic objectives.
STM has also released footage of the system’s first test flight. The company stated that the system has completed its design phase and successfully carried out test flights, and it will be publicly showcased for the first time at the upcoming SAHA 2026 International Defense and Aerospace Exhibition.
STM General Manager Özgür Güleryüz said that recent global and regional crises have further highlighted the importance of long-range and low-cost weapon systems. He added that KUZGUN is an effort to elevate Türkiye’s strategic defense capability to a new level.
He explained that the system can autonomously target critical infrastructure such as command centers, air defense systems, and radar installations. It also includes electronic warfare-resistant navigation and low-altitude flight capabilities.
According to the company, the name KUZGUN is inspired by the crow, known for its intelligence and speed, and it has been designed as a silent but highly effective strike system for modern warfare scenarios.
