Baku (Turk Khabar): Turkey and Azerbaijan have signed the 12th Joint Economic Commission (JEC) protocol, approving a 110-point action plan covering energy, trade, investment, tourism, and other sectors.
The agreement was signed in Baku by Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister Ali Asadov. Yılmaz stated that the Shusha Declaration signed in 2021 by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev elevated bilateral relations to the level of a strategic alliance, and the current cooperation aims to promote regional and international prosperity under the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
Yılmaz added that the JEC meeting provides a roadmap to move forward with confidence on joint economic goals and ensures that cooperation delivers tangible results. The new action plan includes collaboration in free trade agreements, investments in third countries, integration into Azerbaijan’s computerized transit system, joint industrial training centers, agriculture, oil and natural gas, health, tourism, and banking.
The Turkish Vice President highlighted that trade volume with Azerbaijan reached a record high of $8 billion last year, reflecting the strong economic ties between the two countries.
