Baku (Turkiye News): A criminal trial is underway in Yekaterinburg, where the Kirovsky District Court is hearing the case against former Azerbaijani community leader Shahin Shikhlinski and his son Matvali Shikhlinski.
The defendants are accused of using violence against a government official. During the court proceedings, prosecutors have demanded a nine-year sentence in a high-security prison for Shahin Shikhlinski, while seeking a nine-year term in a general-regime colony for his son.
According to media reports, Shahin Shikhlinski had already been sentenced on March 5 to 22 years in prison in cases related to intentional murder and attempted contract killing.
The hearing is ongoing, and a final court verdict is still awaited.
