Thomas Tuchel Signs New Contract as Head Coach of England Senior Men’s Football Team

Azerbaijan (Sports Desk) – Thomas Tuchel has signed a new contract to lead the England senior men’s football team as head coach through UEFA EURO 2028 in the UK and Ireland.

Tuchel had guided the unbeaten Three Lions during the qualifying stages for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the United States, and has now agreed to continue as head coach for an additional two years. England conceded no goals while scoring 20 in the successful campaign and remains ranked fifth in the world for over seven and a half years.

Tuchel’s core support staff – Anthony Barry, Henrique Hilario, Nico Mayer, and James Milburn – have also signed new contracts through summer 2028. These agreements aim to allow the team to fully focus on the upcoming World Cup and maintain consistency in top-tier UEFA Nations League matches, with the draws scheduled today in Brussels.

Over the next year, England will embark on a crucial stage of qualifying for a unique European Championship hosted at home, culminating with the final at Wembley Stadium. Tuchel assumed his role as England head coach in January 2025 after winning multiple trophies with clubs including Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich, earning recognition as Europe’s and the world’s best men’s coach in 2021 for his outstanding achievements in London.
