Peshawar (Turkey News): An exchange of fire occurred along the Pak-Afghan border in the Khyber region, particularly in the areas of Torkham and Tirah Valley, leading to heightened tensions. According to security sources, intermittent firing continued at different locations along the border.
Sources said clashes took place at three separate points, with gunfire lasting for nearly an hour. Pakistani security forces responded swiftly and effectively. Officials confirmed that all personnel remained safe, while in retaliatory action, a check post across the border was targeted and completely destroyed.
Meanwhile, Musharraf Zaidi, spokesperson for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on foreign media, issued a statement on social media platform X, warning that any further provocation would be met with an immediate and strong response. He emphasized that Pakistan remains committed to protecting its citizens and defending its territorial integrity.
Security has been further tightened in the border areas, and authorities are closely monitoring the situation. Officials stated that all necessary measures are being taken to maintain peace and stability.
