Taliban’s Ban on Girls’ Education Contradicts Islam: Malala

Islamabad (Turkiya News): Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai stated that the Taliban’s ban on girls’ education goes against the message of Islam. She urged the international community not to maintain normal relations with the Taliban but to increase pressure to uphold human rights.

A special ceremony was held at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford University, where Malala’s portrait was unveiled alongside that of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

Malala highlighted that the Taliban are depriving girls and women of their fundamental rights, and the education ban in Afghanistan has become a serious issue. Afghan girls continue to pursue education secretly and online, and she stands in solidarity with them.

She also described Benazir Bhutto as a role model for women worldwide. According to portrait sponsor Hamid Ismail, having Malala’s portrait displayed at a prestigious institution like Oxford University is a source of pride not only for Malala but also for Pakistan. Malala’s parents expressed gratitude and joy over this honor.
