Ankara (Turkey News): Pakistan’s Minister of State for Interior, Talal Chaudhry, completed a two-day official visit to Ankara, during which he reaffirmed the commitment to further strengthen institutional cooperation with Turkey in security, counterterrorism, and anti-narcotics efforts.
The high-level delegation, led by Minister Chaudhry, included the Secretary of Interior and heads of key departments of Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior. During the visit, the Pakistani delegation held a joint meeting with Munir Karaloglu and other senior Turkish officials, discussing ways to enhance coordination and liaison between the interior ministries of both countries.
The delegation also visited Turkish police, counterterrorism, immigration, and anti-narcotics departments to discuss improving practical cooperation and sharing best practices.
On the occasion of Ramadan, Talal Chaudhry conveyed greetings from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, emphasizing that Pakistan will continue close cooperation with Turkey for peace, security, and effective outcomes.
Turkey has made significant progress in combating terrorism in recent years, particularly against groups like ISIS and PKK. Pakistan is actively engaged against ISIS and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan and can benefit from Turkey’s experience in this field.
Minister Chaudhry’s visit is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the broader bilateral relationship. Last July, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated their commitment to enhancing cooperation in trade, defense, energy, connectivity, and investment.
