Canberra (Sports Desk): Big Bash League team Sydney Thunder has congratulated all-rounder Shadab Khan on his selection in the Pakistan squad for the T20 series against Sri Lanka. Shadab Khan is currently representing Sydney Thunder and has been playing a key role with his impressive performances.
According to a Sydney Thunder spokesperson, Shadab Khan will travel to Sri Lanka after playing the match against Hobart Hurricanes on January 4. However, he will be available again for Sydney Smash at the Sydney Cricket Ground on January 16, and if the team reaches the final, Shadab Khan will participate in that as well.
So far, Shadab Khan has scored 100 runs at an average of 33.33 and taken six wickets, emerging as Thunder’s top bowler. On his national team selection, Shadab Khan said representing Pakistan is an honor and expressed excitement to return to Thunder to help the team in the race for the final.
Sydney Thunder GM Trent Copeland stated that representing one’s country is always a matter of pride and expressed enthusiasm about Shadab Khan’s return. He added that discussions for an alternate overseas player are in the final stage and that the team is fully prepared for the crucial season ahead.
