Islamabad (Commerce Desk): The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has immediately suspended six officials who failed to attend their assigned duties for monitoring sugar mills.
According to an FBR spokesperson, these officials had been deployed to ensure effective, transparent, and uninterrupted oversight of sugar production. Their absence was revealed during routine monitoring conducted by the Lahore Local Tax Office (LTO).
The spokesperson added that due to the seriousness of their negligence, disciplinary action against the concerned officers was recommended, and immediate suspension orders were issued.
FBR officials emphasized that the institution is committed to maintaining discipline, integrity, and professional standards across all field formations. Any negligence, mismanagement, or failure to comply with assigned responsibilities will be dealt with strictly under the law.
