Lahore (Showbiz Desk): Renowned qawwal Faraz Amjad has clarified his position regarding the incident that occurred during the qawwali night held at Lahore’s historic Shalamar Bagh.
Faraz Amjad stated that he was performing according to the list provided by the event organizers, but during the performance, an unknown individual came onto the stage, misbehaved, pressured him to alter the song, and issued threats.
He explained that initially, the pressure was ignored, but to prevent the situation from escalating, he reluctantly performed the song. Faraz Amjad emphasized that baseless allegations were made against him afterward.
The qawwal strongly rejected claims of anti-state behavior or sedition, asserting that Pakistan is his homeland and he could never act against it.
He appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for justice and demanded a transparent investigation into the incident. Amjad also urged the public to watch the video he shared to understand the facts of the matter.
