Severe Cold Hits US: 38 Dead, Storm Warning Issued

New York (Monitoring Desk): Fourteen states in the United States are experiencing extreme cold and storm conditions, resulting in at least 38 deaths so far, according to reports.

Most fatalities have been attributed to hypothermia and heart attacks, according to international news agencies. New York City Mayor Zahran Mohammadi reported that 10 deaths occurred in New York City alone, while over 500 homeless people were moved to temporary shelters.

Authorities have warned that the severe cold is expected to continue until February 1, issuing alerts for 200 million residents. Meteorologists have also raised concerns about a potential new storm in eastern US later this week.
