Saad Hariri Announces Future Movement’s Participation in Parliamentary Elections

Beirut (Monitoring Desk): Former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri has announced that his party, the Future Movement, will participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections expected in May this year.

Hariri made the announcement while addressing supporters during a gathering marking the 21st anniversary of his father, Rafik Hariri, near Martyrs’ Square. He stated that he remains committed to moderate ideas and intends to follow his father’s path.

He further emphasized that the Future Movement aims to prevent Lebanon from being divided along sectarian lines and to work in the interest of the state. Hariri stressed the need for full implementation of the Taif Agreement, asserting that only the state should possess weapons, and no political group should be allowed to maintain arms.
