Iran Accuses U.S. of Spreading False Propaganda at the United Nations

New York (Monitoring Desk) Iran’s mission to the United Nations has accused the United States of spreading false and misleading statements against Iran and its nuclear program at the United Nations Security Council.

In a statement issued on the social media platform X, the Iranian mission said Washington was running a propaganda campaign to portray Iran’s peaceful nuclear program as controversial, while also continuing what it described as illegal naval blockades in violation of international law.

The statement further alleged that the United States continues to support Israeli actions and alleged atrocities in the region while attempting to present itself as a defender of justice.

Iran’s representative at the United Nations stated that the United States remains the only country in history to have used nuclear weapons and accused Washington of supporting regional tensions, naval blockades, and attacks on civilian facilities.

The Iranian mission’s remarks came amid reports that a U.S.- and Gulf-backed resolution related to the Strait of Hormuz has gained support from a large number of UN member states and could soon be brought to a vote.
