Russian Strikes on Ukraine Leave Dead and Injured as Casualties Rise

Kyiv (Monitoring Desk) Fresh attacks on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, and several other major cities have resulted in multiple fatalities and dozens of injuries. Rescue and relief operations are continuing in the affected areas.

According to international media reports, Ukraine’s fourth-largest city, Dnipro came under missile and drone attacks, resulting in at least five deaths and twenty-five injuries.

Ukrainian officials stated that Kyiv was also heavily targeted during the latest wave of attacks, where at least four people were killed and fifty-one others were reported injured.

According to the Mayor of Kyiv, a missile strike caused a significant section of a 24-storey residential building to collapse. Authorities fear that several people may still be trapped beneath the rubble.

He added that search and rescue operations were launched immediately to locate and evacuate those believed to be trapped, while emergency teams continue clearing debris from the site.

The mayor further said that falling missile fragments sparked fires in several structures, including a nine-storey residential building. Firefighters and emergency responders were deployed to bring the blazes under control.

Officials noted that assessments are ongoing to determine the full extent of the damage and casualties, while the injured are receiving treatment at various hospitals.
