Russell Takes Pole in Chinese Grand Prix Sprint Qualifying

Shanghai: George Russell, the British driver for Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, delivered an outstanding performance to secure first place in the sprint qualifying session for the Chinese Grand Prix, while his teammate Kimi Antonelli finished second to complete a front-row lockout for the team.

According to media reports, Russell recorded the fastest time in all sessions held on Friday. He topped the only practice session of the day and later remained the quickest driver throughout all three stages of the sprint qualifying.

In the final phase, SQ3, Russell set the best lap time of 1:31.520, finishing nearly three-tenths of a second ahead of his teammate Antonelli.

Meanwhile, Antonelli had faced an investigation over an incident involving Lando Norris of McLaren Formula One Team. However, the stewards cleared him of any wrongdoing and allowed him to retain his second-place position.
