Red Zone Closure Ends, Islamabad High Court Reopens After 12 Days, Hundreds of Cases Pending

Islamabad (Turkey News): The Islamabad High Court has reopened after 12 days following the end of the Red Zone closure, and judicial proceedings have resumed.

According to details, the court last heard cases on April 16, after which judicial activity was affected due to various administrative reasons.

Sources said that under the austerity drive, no judicial work was conducted on Friday, which further delayed hearings and resulted in hundreds of cases being postponed during the 12-day period.

Reports indicate that important hearings, including several high-profile cases, could not take place last week due to the closure of the Red Zone.

According to sources, even the hearing of the £2 billion case was scheduled but had to be removed from the cause list due to the suspension of court proceedings.

Similarly, a case related to tree cutting in Islamabad could not be heard due to the court closure, further increasing the backlog of pending cases.
