Washington (Monitoring Desk) A 42 percent increase has been proposed in the United States defense budget, while the Pentagon has released further details of the defense budget for fiscal year 2027.
According to international news agencies, the budget will exceed 1.5 trillion dollars, making it the largest defense budget in US history.
The report stated that a large amount has been allocated for naval ships, fighter jets, and advanced missile defense systems, with around 750 billion dollars reserved for these sectors alone.
In the defense budget, 74 billion dollars have been proposed for drone and anti-drone systems, while more than 75 billion dollars have been allocated for space defense programs.
In addition, 18 billion dollars have been proposed for missile defense projects and 2.3 billion dollars for security along the US–Mexico border.
US officials said the aim of the budget is to further increase investment in modern weapons and defense technology and strengthen defense capabilities at the global level.
