Washington (Monitoring Desk) An alleged leaked audio attributed to the appointed British ambassador to the United States, Sir Christian Turner, has sparked debate in global diplomatic circles.
According to a report by the British newspaper Financial Times, in the audio the ambassador can be heard saying that in the current global situation, the United States’ “special relationship” with the United Kingdom is weakening, and in some aspects it appears to be more aligned with Israel.
The report states that the ambassador acknowledged that cooperation between the US and the UK in the fields of defense, economy, and security remains intact; however, the nature of this relationship is changing in line with global conditions.
According to Sir Christian Turner, European countries should adopt new strategies for their security instead of relying completely on the United States.
On the other hand, the British Foreign Office has distanced itself from the statement, saying it may be the ambassador’s personal opinion and should not be considered official policy.
Experts say this situation has emerged at a time when shifts in global geopolitical alliances and new realignments are being observed worldwide.
