Questions over Pentagon briefings: doubts grow over information on Iran war, report says

Washington (Monitoring Desk) — The American magazine The Atlantic has claimed that the U.S. Department of Defense (United States Department of Defense) may not be fully informing President Donald Trump about the complete and accurate situation regarding the ongoing tensions and conflict with Iran.

According to the report, U.S. Vice President JD Vance repeatedly raised questions in closed-door meetings about whether the briefings provided by defense institutions were complete and fact-based.

Sources said that JD Vance specifically expressed concern over the reduction in U.S. missile stockpiles and also informed President Trump about it.

The report claims that intelligence assessments suggest Iran still retains significant military capability, including a large part of its air force, missile systems, and fast naval boats capable of operations in the Strait of Hormuz.

It further states that after the ceasefire, around 50% of Iran’s missile launchers have become operational again, increasing security concerns in the region.

The report also noted that according to some former officials, defense briefings are often tailored according to the President’s priorities, raising questions about transparency.
