Washington (Monitoring Desk) Significant progress has reportedly been made in the ongoing peace negotiations between Iran and the United States being mediated by Pakistan. According to a report by a British news agency, the United States has shown willingness to ease sanctions imposed on Iranian oil.
The report stated that under the new proposals, the US could temporarily suspend sanctions on Iranian oil as long as the negotiations continue. In addition, Washington has also reportedly agreed to restore 25 percent of Iran’s frozen funds.
According to Iranian officials, the United States has shown flexibility on certain matters related to the nuclear program, while Tehran will hold detailed discussions regarding its nuclear program at a later stage.
Sources said that the revised peace proposals also include points related to a permanent end to the conflict, removal of sanctions, and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
Analysts believe that if the negotiations succeed, they could help reduce tensions in the region and increase stability in global energy markets.
