Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China expected in May, CPEC and economic cooperation on agenda

Islamabad (Turkey News) — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to undertake an official visit to China in May, which is expected to further accelerate high-level engagements between Pakistan and China.

According to details, the visit will review bilateral relations, economic cooperation, and progress on ongoing projects, while the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will remain a key part of the agenda.

The Prime Minister will hold important meetings with the Chinese leadership and will also brief them on the current situation in the Middle East, while the ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran will also be part of the discussions.

During the visit, progress is expected on new investment opportunities, industrial cooperation, collaboration in the agriculture sector, and the establishment of special economic zones.

It has further been reported that discussions will also focus on increasing bilateral trade and accelerating CPEC projects, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already started preparations for the visit.
