Turkey (Turkiye News): President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with citizens from Doğuje ahead of the AK Party Central Executive Committee meeting in a warm and emotional gathering. During the meeting, he had a special interaction with 100-year-old Nejati Yilmaz and 96-year-old Recep Taşken.
Nejati Yilmaz said to President Erdoğan:
"My President, please forgive me,"
to which Erdoğan humbly replied:
"What right do I have to forgive?"
This moment became the most memorable and touching part of the encounter.
Recep Taşken offered a prayer for the president, saying:
"May Allah bless you with a prosperous life and grant you strength and power,"
and Erdoğan thanked him for the heartfelt prayer.
Later, Erdoğan gifted walking sticks to both elders and took commemorative photographs with them. Through his guests, he also conveyed best wishes to the people of Doğuje.
AK Party Doğuje Member of Parliament, Ayesha Kaşir, was also present at the meeting.
