Istanbul (Turkey News): Speaker of Türkiye’s Grand National Assembly Numan Kurtulmuş met with Inter-Parliamentary Union Secretary General Martin Chungong and Assembly Secretary Karin Jaber to discuss preparations for the 152nd Global Parliamentary Meeting.
The meeting was held at a prominent hotel in Istanbul, where the major international event will take place. Various administrative matters and program planning were reviewed as part of the preparations.
According to sources, more than 80 activities will be organized during the global gathering, including standing committee meetings, forums, and thematic sessions. The central theme of this year’s session will focus on highlighting the role of parliaments in promoting peace, justice, and sustainable development for future generations.
Earlier, Numan Kurtulmuş also attended a meeting of the organization’s executive committee and addressed the opening session. In his speech, he stated that the world is currently facing uncertainty and complex challenges, increasing the responsibilities of parliaments.
He emphasized the need to promote dialogue, raise a collective voice against injustice and conflicts, and adopt innovative ideas for a better future, in order to build a safe and stable world for coming generations.
