Istanbul (Turkey News): Preparations are underway in Türkiye for the upcoming defence, aviation, and space technology exhibition SAHA EXPO 2026, with revenues from the event planned to be invested in drone production and training centres across the country.
According to Haluk Bayraktar, CEO of Turkish defence company Baykar, this will be the fifth edition of the exhibition, featuring more than 1,700 companies, including 260 foreign participants.
He said that more than 200,000 visitors are expected this year, reflecting a significant increase compared to the first edition of the event.
He added that Türkiye’s defence and industrial network is expanding rapidly, and the SAHA platform generated export agreements worth $6.2 billion in 2024.
Officials stated that the target for the coming year has been raised to $8 billion in exports.
According to the statement, drone production and training centres will be established in all 81 provinces of Türkiye, aiming to provide young people with modern technological training and practical opportunities in the defence sector.
Authorities further said these centres will remain open to the public to expand opportunities in the advanced defence industry.
